About

Sophia Mancusi (b. 2000) makes paintings that investigate time, memory and the landscape. Her deliberately quiet works immortalize moments of tranquility and meditation that exist amidst the chaos of everyday life. She draws upon her personal experiences in solitude, relying on memory and emotion to unearth them. Hazy yet familiar motifs find their way into her paintings, blending the personal with the universal.

Sophia Mancusi was born in Boston, Massachusetts and currently lives and works there. She is pursuing a bachelor of fine arts in painting at Massachusetts College of Art and Design where she is set to graduate in May of 2025.
